First Friday Holy Hour
On the evening before his Passion and Death, Jesus asked his sleepy apostles to pray quietly with him in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” On May 1 at 7:00pm, we will celebrate our First Friday Holy Hour with Exposition of the Holy Eucharist and Benediction. For those who would like to extend the Hour, the parish rosary group will pray the rosary at 6:30 PM.

Crowning of Our Blessed Mother after 10:00am Mass on May 3.
Children who received their First Communion are invited to attend wearing their Communion clothes!

Woman of the Year Lunch
Woman of the Year Luncheon May 3 at 11:30am in the ACL. Come Celebrate Our Woman of the Year Katie Augustynowicz!

Wee Worship
This program is for children 3-6 years old and their parents to connect with one another and increase devotion to the Lord through faith-related concepts of music, stories, crafts and games. We will meet on Monday, May 4 at 6:00pm. Contact Ellen Coman, Director of Sacred music at Ellen@st-irene.org

Little Flowers Girls Club
The Little Flowers Girls’ Club is a program whose goal is to provide young Catholic Girls, ages five and up, with an opportunity to gather and learn about their Catholic heritage, faith, and tradition. Next meeting is Monday, May 4 at 6:00pm in the Mobiles.

Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary meets every Wednesday at 6pm in the Parish Center Holy Family Room. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 6th. We pray the Rosary, discuss works of mercy or other Catholic related activities.

Lunch Bunch Luncheon
Join us for a funeral party at our next Lunch Bunch Ministry on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11:30am in the ACL.
Learn about planning a funeral, cremation, the Liturgy, and anything else you are dying to know.
Dress code: Wear black and all of your favorite funeral foods will be served!

Small Christian Communities
St. Irene has formed a new small Christian community. We will meet twice a month on Mondays. Our next meeting will be Monday, May 11 from 7pm to 8pm in the mobile classroom. We are discussing the book "An Introduction to Prayer" by Bishop Robert Barron.

Lay Carmelites
Who are the Lay Carmelites? Would you like to strengthen your friendship with Jesus? Deepen your relationship with Mary? Perhaps you are being called to be a Lay Carmelite. A Lay Carmelite community meets monthly at St. Irene Parish. Anyone who is interested in learning more can contact Debbie Andrle at 708-363-1753 or by email at debbie.andrle24@gmail.com. St. Irene Annual Golf Outing
Save the date! The St. Irene Annual Golf Outing will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2026 at the Bliss Creek Golf Club, Sugar Grove. This year's proceeds will benefit St. Irene Parish.

Lunch Bunch Ministry Help Wanted
We are looking for ministers to take turns to help
- coordinate/organize
- find speakers or entertainment
- setup (Wednesday afternoon before the lunch)
- bake desserts
- cleanup
The luncheons are scheduled the first Thursday of the months of September – May/June. Please find it in your hearts to minister to this wonderful group of our faith community.
