How to find signs of hope

Sometimes it seems easy to find examples of injustice: unfair treatment of people and disregard for their inherent dignity as human beings. We feel powerless to do anything that can make a difference. While we should not turn a blind eye to injustice in our neighborhoods, cities or workplace, perhaps we might also become attentive to the signs of hope that inspire our action on behalf of the hungry, homeless and ill. Some among us are naturally gifted in seeking solutions to the problems in our world; others contribute their time or material goods; others their ability to bring injustice to the attention of those in positions of influence or authority. When we are good stewards in these ways, we share the hope of Christ.

In the coming week, watch and listen for the ways people share hope by offering themselves for others. How do their actions inspire you? What will you do as a result?
